Unlimited Child and Gift of the Givers Aid Yemeni Refugee Camps

By Roseisha Ishwardutt, The Unlimited Child
The Unlimited Child in partnership with Gift of The Givers, a renowned humanitarian organization, is thrilled to announce the launch of a ground-breaking pilot program that will bring The Unlimited Child's world-class Early Childhood Development (ECD) blueprint and program to Yemeni refugee camps. This innovative collaboration aims to make a transformative impact on the lives of children by providing them with essential early education opportunities and, at the same time, unlocking the potential of childminding resources in refugee camps.
The ongoing refugee crisis in Yemen has profoundly affected the lives of countless children, depriving them of their basic rights and access to quality education and nurturing environments. Recognising the crucial role of early childhood development in shaping a child's future, The Unlimited Child and Gift of The Givers have joined forces to address this urgent need.
The pilot program in Yemeni refugee camps will involve the establishment of 15 playgroups, offering comprehensive training to Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners. Through this specialised training, practitioners will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care and education to the children. Furthermore, age-appropriate toys and learning materials will be supplied, creating engaging and stimulating environments that foster holistic development.
A crucial element of the program is the ongoing mentoring and coaching provided to practitioners and childminders. This continuous support and professional development will enable them to effectively implement The Unlimited Child's ECD blueprint, ensuring that children achieve important early educational milestones, including numeracy, literacy, cognitive, and social skills.
"We are immensely excited to collaborate with Gift of The Givers in extending our world-class Early Childhood Development program to Yemeni refugee camps," stated Candice Potgieter, Chief Executive Officer at The Unlimited Child. "Through this partnership, we aim to empower these vulnerable children with the necessary tools for a brighter future, unlocking their full potential and offering hope in the face of adversity."
Gift of The Givers, known for its extensive humanitarian efforts, brings invaluable expertise, and a deep commitment to serving communities in need.
