Job Description
Kids Haven seeks to appoint a qualified and experienced bookkeeper or accountant as the Financial Office Manager to be based in Benoni, Gauteng. It is a half-day permanent position, with possible extra time needed on a quarterly basis.
Hours: This is a ½ day position from Monday to Friday. The position may suit hybrid working in time although at least 3 mornings of in-office time is expected. The primary office is in Benoni with a subsidiary office in Bryanston. If the incumbent works from Bryanston, it will still be necessary to travel to Benoni once per week.
Scope of the Position:
- To capture, analyse and present the monthly accounts for Kids Haven and prepare the accounts for audit annually.
- To work directly with the CEO, Accounts administrator, HR Coordinator, fundraising team and the treasurer of the Board of Directors of Kids Haven.
- Capture and tracking of donor financial reports and providing certain reports to donors, including State stakeholders.
- Submission of VAT returns and reports to SARS every two months.
- Annual budget preparation.
Remuneration: Gross remuneration will align to salaries in Non-Profit sector and can be discussed.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for monthly financial management, including data entry, reconciliations, payroll preparation, cost analysis, and reporting. Periodic duties include VAT submissions, donor financial reports, tax compliance, audit preparation, and budgeting. Also supports HR with payroll and statutory filings while ensuring accurate financial oversight and reporting.

Qualifications and Requirements
Experience and Qualifications required
- BCom Degree or equivalent tertiary diploma in accounting or bookkeeping.
- A minimum of ten years similar or appropriate experience. Contactable references required.
- No criminal record and Police Clearance.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks PLUS, and SARS e-filing, and preparation of accounts for audit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.
- Previous in experience in non-profit sector an advantage.
- Driver’s license.
