All organisations function better if it is clear who does what and how decisions are made.  When strategy, structure and organisational culture align, things just work better.  Getting there requires participation, engagement and sometimes difficult conversations.  There is no formula.  I devise and support the right process for each unique context.
 

Many NPO leaders need support from someone outside the organisation to help them function optimally. Sometimes this is to assist with effective management, taking tough decisions, or developing an inclusive management style.  That needs a conventional coaching programme which we can plan together.

Getting governance right makes all the difference.

Boards can be intrusive or negligent. I can help you find the right balance. Good policies, "how we do things around here", make things better for everyone. Policies that are badly drafted or poorly implemented become a drag on effective function. I can help you fix them.

Experience is the source of my expertise. I have set up and run a number of substantial nonprofit organisations. I have deep experience of raising and disbursing funding, and am very comfortable in local and international development contexts. I was twice asked to take over the leadership of large, troubled non profits, and each time handed them back in much better shape.

Building teams and launching careers has been a feature of my leadership within organisations. I bring this experience to my consulting work.
